Molecular and Cellular Cardiology is a conference to study the molecular mechanisms that underlie cardiovascular biology and disease. Molecular Cardiology also focuses on the role of lipid metabolism in the regulation of cell signalling in the heart and vasculature and investigates genetic and biological mechanisms of Heart and Cardiovascular disease. The major goals of Department of Molecular cardiology are 1) to continue Cleveland clinic’s long-lasting tradition of research in the area of cardiovascular biology, 2) to develop cutting edge research programs to address significant physiological and pathophysiological mechanisms that occur in the heart and vasculature, 3) to maintain an active linkage between basic and clinical investigators with research programs in cardiovascular biology and 4) to provide educational opportunities for student and fellows to receive research training in cardiovascular biology. Our mission is to improve the treatments available for patients suffering from cardiovascular disease by combining basic research aimed at understanding the molecular mechanisms of heart disease with the discovery of innovative small molecule and cell-based therapeutics.
